Hi guys!

I'm really pleased that you're doing the new podcast, but the recording levels seem to be *very* low. So much so that I can't reasonably listen to the latest episode using headphones (in a relatively quiet office).

I use my phone as my MP3 player and download episodes directly to the handset over HSDPA, but other podcasts I download like this are loud enough (the new StackOverflow podcast for example).

At the moment I just download the episodes to my PC instead, so although it's not a huge problem it means I can't consume the podcast in the way that I usually would and take it with me.

Other than that - keep up the great work!

Regards,
James

@James: Are all four of them low or only some of them? I am guessing that episodes 2-4 are lower than #1. I think I know what you mean.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm still learning as I go.

I could try boosting the audio and see how that goes.

Episodes 2 and 3 were on the quiet side, but episode 4 is particularly quiet. Having said that I realise that the roundtable episodes are more prone to audio issues, and like I said - it's not a great problem. The content itself is fantastic and I can't wait to get to the interview episodes!

Thanks for stepping up creating such a great resource for the community!

We're looking at it. I sent you a test of episode 3 with the levels boosted. Let me know if that is any better.

Agreed, adding PHP functions to CFLib would be a good idea. I recently had to convert some PHP code to CF, and just did a straight conversion rather than rewrite it from scratch. Came across a few function calls that had no CF equivalent, so I wrote my own. This could be a huge project though... there are at least 700 built in functions in PHP, and at least 5000 listed here:
